Come and watch this screening of a work-in-progress documentary, ‘Dis-Ease’ by Mariam Ghani. The film explores how pop-culture images and the language we use to talk about disease affect the ways we treat people who are sick and how we respond to epidemics. After the screening, there will be a chance to hear from the director and ask questions.
‘Dis-Ease’ was originally commissioned for Contagious Cities and is almost entirely made from archival material sourced from the New York Public Library, the New York Academy of Medicine, Wellcome Collection and the Brooklyn Historical Society.
