Julius Caesar has been the inspiration to countless military commanders over the last two millennia. In this talk Dr Simon Elliott details his life, beginning with his aristocratic family, early life, progression along the cursus honorum, many military campaigns and infamous assassination. He will go into particular detail about Caesar's conquest of Gaul and civil wars, and then discuss in detail Caesar's many legacies to the world we live in today.
