Theme Park rides are big business throughout the world. Their design presents complex structural challenges with interaction of many different engineering disciplines.
Design of these rides feature some generic structural challenges that don’t exist in normal structural design, while ensuring safety is at the forefront.

About the speaker
Allan Mann has had a career spanning 50 years in structural engineering, working in many industry sectors. For many years he has been an active Member of the Institution serving on the Editorial, Prizes and Health and Safety Committees, also assisting SCOSS and CROSS. He has published many papers and received several prizes including the Institution’s Gold Medal in 2011.
