The story behind the 'Great Survey'

Domesday Book is one of the most famous artifacts in British history. Although commissioned by William the Conqueror, it gives us extraordinary insight into a country shaped by the Anglo-Saxon era.

Explore its creation, contents and hidden stories with Chris Lewis (Kings College London), Juergen Vervoorst (Head of Collection Care, the National Archives) and historian and broadcaster Michael Wood.
