The Hunterian Museum at the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians are jointly hosting this one-night event in celebration of legendary anatomist William Hunter’s 300th birthday.
Featuring a lecture from award-winning author of The Knife Man, Wendy Moore, and exclusive anatomy-themed tours of the RCP’s collections housed in its Grade I listed building, this event will explore the bloody and competitive world of 18th-century medicine and anatomy.
One a physician and the other a surgeon, the Hunter brothers – William and John – revolutionised British medicine. Join us to discover more about their tumultuous relationship as brothers and professional rivals in a time when surgeons and physicians rarely saw eye to eye.
