Everyone is welcome to join Laydeez do Comics. Launched in July 2009 by artists Nicola Streeten and Sarah Lightman, LDC is the first women-led, but not women-only, graphic novel forum in the UK. Astrid Schmetterling, Senior Lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, will be discussing the extraordinary life and work of Charlotte Salomon. Hear from Corinne Pearlman, Creative Director of Myriad Editions, speaking about their latest publication, ‘The Inking Woman’, celebrating 250 years of the work of women cartoonists in Britain.
