By making London one of the greenest city on earth, the Mayor of London launched the ambition to declare the capital as the world’s first National Park City by 2019. With a focus on green infrastructure, green spaces, and protection of wildlife the proposal aims to have huge beneficial effects for Londoners, improving air quality and focusing on wellbeing for all.
In addition, the introduction of the urban greening factor in the new London Plan shows the commitment to create a truly green city.
Yet, with the pressure on the land available in the capital and the paramount duty to housing Londoners, what strategies can we put in place to increase green spaces and biodiversity while accommodating growth at the same time?
During National Park City Week, this breakfast talk hears from built environment professionals on how to green the capital.
