Women in Focus festival

Through a jam-packed programme, Women in Focus hopes to raise complex discussions surrounding women’s rights, gender, and what it means to be a woman in 2018.

This two-day festival is open to all and boasts top quality music, poetry, exhibitions, workshops, talks, and more, all focused on celebrating and empowering women.

Themes tackled will include feminism in theatre, female artists and icons, sexuality and culture, and empowering the next generation. Event highlights include performances from Let Drum Beat and Baque Luar; Teresa Witz’s Women in Sport exhibition, Poetry Hour with Paula Varjack and Maria Ferguson, and talks from Jazz Herstory Collective, theatre maker Nastazja Somers, and capoeirista Dafne Louzioti.

All of the events are free to attend and hope to inspire, empower and evoke thoughtful discussion, championing women today.
