London Tramways Document Display

11:00 am - 3:30 pm

London County Council Tramways colour posters first appeared in 1923. Some suggested ideas for day trips in London (to London Zoo, parks and gardens, the Thames, museums and galleries), while others advertised sporting venues (football and cricket), Christmas shopping and promoted late night cheap travel.

In 1933, the final posters were produced. Among them were warnings for passengers to take care when alighting.
