Storstrm - the world's most humane prison

This event has finished Took place on: Thursday, 1st Mar 2018

Date changed - now on 1st March

Hear from architects C.F. Møller and landscape architects Marianne Levinsen Landskab on the much talked-about design of Storstrm Prison.

Referred to as 'the world's most humane prison', Storstrøm has raised the question as to whether this kind of incarceration environment, focused on wellbeing, rehabilitation and reintegration, can and should be applied to prison design globally.

Following the architects' presentation, the Prison Reform Trust will be joining us with a short response to shed light on the state of the UK's prison system today and whether this type of prison design is something the UK can aspire to.

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A.

Speakers include:

Mads Mandrup Hansen, project architect at C.F. Møller

Marianne Levinsen, project landscape architect and founder of Marianne Levinsen Landskab

Peter Dawson, director of the Prison Reform Trust

Chair: Lewis Blackwell, executive director of strategy and development at The Built Environment Trust

The event will start at 6.30pm and finish at 8.00pm. Registration will open at 6.00pm.

Cost: £10.68
