How to charm without a wand? Author of Inside the Nudge Unit: How small changes can make a big difference David Halpern reveals how the insights of behavioural economics can be used to influence the behaviour of individuals and even entire swathes of society.

David Halpern heads the Behavioural Insights Team (unofficially known as the ‘Nudge Unit’) spun out from the Cabinet Office. Prior to work in government, Halpern was a lecturer in social human sciences, University of Cambridge (1996 – 2001), a Nuffield College, Oxford prize research fellow (1993 – 96), and a research fellow at the Policy Studies Institute (1991 – 94). He currently is a visiting professor at King's College London.

This event is aimed at an adult audience, although children are welcome to attend.
