'Walking among Giants’ an urban climate walking tour - City of London

This event has finished Took place on: Saturday, 14th Oct 2017

A FREE Urban Climate Walk through the City of London. The walk titled ‘Walking among Giants’ presents a unique view of the City of London through the role of tall buildings in creating distinct microclimates and offers a novel perspective on the City’s dramatic and changing skyline.

The walk takes about two & a half hours and is a very enjoyable way to learn about the urban heat island and other urban climate and environmental effects. The aim of the event is to increase environmental awareness and so focuses on green infrastucture, sustainability and climate change. The theme that links the various stops along the way is energy, both its natural expressions (temperature/wind/sunshine) and those of building needs (cooling/heating loads) and how these are interdependently linked at the scale of the city street
