The Deptford Jack Parade

Annual event where a tall plant covered man is paraded around Deptford and Greenwich.

Will be a route marked by stops as pubs, so the address here is the start.

The Fowlers Troop Jack in the Green was revived by members of Blackheath Morris Men and friends in the early 1980s. It is a revival of a Jack in the Green from about 1906 which was taken out around Deptford, South East London on May Day by the original Fowlers Troop.

12.30 Sail Loft, 11 Victoria Parade, SE10 9FR.

13.30 LUNCH, MUSIC and DANCE STOP. Cutty Sark Gardens. No "official" pub here, but several nearby.

14.30 Star and Garter, 60 Old Woolwich Rd, Greenwich, SE10 9NY.

15.30 Plume of Feathers, 19 Park Vista, Greenwich SE10 9LZ.

17.00 Rose and Crown, 1 Crooms Hill, Greenwich SE10 8ER.

18.00 Ashburnham Arms, 25 Ashburnham Grove, Greenwich, SE10 8UH. END
