Free two-part event.
There is currently no easy way to challenge a venue, shop or restaurant which is not physically accessible for disabled people. The usual response is just to find somewhere else to go, which means the business is none the wiser and the situation doesn't get any better.
The Encouraging Accessibility "Hack" (with a follow-up event in Parliament on 6th February) has been designed to explore how technology could break through this, perhaps by using mapping technology to log and report incidents, raising awareness of premises which are not accessible, and showcasing good practice.
We are inviting innovative, creative thinkers with expertise in technology and/or accessibility, to take up this challenge to help drive out ideas and come up with solutions.
Please let us know by the 19th if you have any access, communication or dietary requirements. If you will be bringing anyone else, please let us have their name and email address. Thank you.
