To the ends of the earth

Starts at 7:00 pm

How does it feel to explore unchartered territory? Exploring tropical forests can be exciting and challenging – the heat and humidity can test people and equipment to breaking point, but the reward of finding a greater wealth of wildlife than any other place on the planet is more than worth it.

Hear explorer, entomologist, zoologist and broadcaster George McGavin recount tales of his remarkable expeditions to these threatened ancient habitats, now vastly diminished since the entomological pioneer Maria Sibylla Merian worked in Suriname over 300 years ago.

Cost: £15
