Free FreeOn Sunday 3 September 1916, William Leefe Robinson, a British pilot of the Royal Flying Corps, shot down the first German airship over mainland Britain. The action earned him a Victoria Cross. However, prior to this watershed moment Britain had struggled in finding an effective way to engage these colossal aircraft.
Ian Castle will discuss how Zeppelins terrorised the skies of Britain for well over a year, before eventually having their weakness exposed.
