Rainforest Roadshow

This event has finished Took place on: Sunday, 28th Oct 2012

 Free

Meet an array of amazing rainforest minibeasts including snakes, giant millipedes and whip spiders, and find out more about them.

Rainforest invertebrates are some of the biggest of their kind in the world. The female jungle nymph, a type of stick insect, is among the heaviest insects in the world. Giant millipedes can reach over 25cm in length. And of course, jungle-dwelling spiders can also reach impressive sizes.

The Rainforest Roadshow gives people the opportunity to meet and appreciate first-hand some of the amazing wonders of the natural world, and to find out how conservation can help them continue to thrive. Like wetlands, rainforests face many threats, and habitat destruction by people is the biggest danger faced by all of these animals.

You’ll be able to see the animals from 10.30am – 4pm each day.

Free with admission to the Centre.
