A small, but interesting museum that charts the history of the City of London's own police force.

It shows off the history of how the police force was set up, a number of significant events in its lifetime and how policing is done today.

Expect lots of information boards, some cases of artifacts, and a long room of uniforms from the ages.

No, it's free to turn up and go in, although groups are asked to contact them first to ensure there isn't a clash with another group.

Free guided tours take place on the first Friday of each month - contact them if you want to bring a group, which they charge for.

How do I find the City of London Police Museum?

The museum is around the side of the main Guildhall Yard. If you're in the Yard go to the left and to the other side of the modern building, and turn right to get to the Library, where the museum is.

No, the Metropolitan Police's private museum, nicknamed the Black Museum because of the crimes it records is not open to the public
