Oh dear, that’ll be a complete disaster then. LHR ETCS anyone? CBTC? The class 345 with the most delay minutes of any British train due to software faults. Dos the PIS work properly yet? How many years did it take to get a “Train not in Service” display?
Oh dear oh dear.
The TfL Rail service is the second most reliable line in the UK, so not sure where you get the idea that the trains are unreliable.
I drive them.
345’s on the LHR service usually require over 100 Resets everyday.
That’s a sudden stop commanded by the ETCS computer, a PA, a call to the signaler, a call to control, a call to ISST, for permission to press the ETCS reset button, wait while the system restarts and then if you’re lucky you can: call the signaler for permission to proceed. All in service with passengers onboard. All between Paddington and LHR/Reading.
