A heads-up that booking for tickets to the annual chance to wander around grand and impressive buildings will be released next week.

Unlike past years where it’s been a manic event packed into one weekend, this year it’s being spread out over a whole week, and two weekends – the 4th to 12th September. The details are not released yet, but they are planning a range of events, with a lot of online content, but also some buildings will be open to visitors.

The tickets for the buildings to visit in person will be released on the Open House London website at Noon on Thursday 12th August Wednesday 11th August.

Good luck with booking what you want – the full programme will be released here.

If you’re feeling a bit sneaky, some of the buildings that need booking are available to see already on Eventbrite.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you

I am wondering when/if Nike will provide tours to the former tea room of Robinson’s Department Store on Oxford Circus…i.e the upper levels over what used to be Topshop (space apparently now rented to Nike)

Vaulted ceiling with Victorian murals of operas.

Had the privilege to briefly work in that space when it was office space

Amusingly the OH website says tickets will be released on WEDNESDAY 11th, which suggests that body has not improved on its appalling management of the booking system in recent years :-S
