As part of London Craft Week, delayed this year, the Belmond Cadogan Hotel is offering tours to view many of the original pieces on display throughout the hotel, by mainly British artists
The Chelsea based hotel, which opened on 28th February following restoration, features over 430 pieces of original artwork. In total, 34 artists have been involved in creating the art collection, of which 23 are women and 29 are British.
The collection is inspired by botanicals, linking to nearby Cadogan Place Gardens and the local area of Chelsea.
The hotel itself has often been host to society over the years. Actress and socialite Lillie Langtry entertained the Prince of Wales using a discrete wood-panelled door that you can still use today. Oscar Wilde famously held his pied-à-terre in room 118 – today the Royal Suite.
The tours are available on Wed 30th Sept and Thur 1st Oct, both running from 11am. The tours last around half an hour.
To book, sent an email to emma.wylde@belmond.com – there’s a limit of 5 places per tour.
Did anyone manage to get tickets or even a response? I messaged the email and only got an Out of Office saying they were closed. No response since either.
