The image above is from Dec 2015: New glass canopy entrance opens at TCR tube station
Rail Technology Magazine podcast Track Talk Ep11 With Invisi smart shield you can confidently touch a ticket machine May 28 2020,has a 16 mins interview with Saba Yussouf CEO Invisi Smart Technologies UK which has developed a spray on nano coating that kills bacteria and viruses in seconds and lasts a whole year !,the spray on coating can be applied to train seats, door buttons and ticket machines and is ready now and being used in hotels.
The glass canopy design at TCR has been a bit of a disaster – the middle bit has had to be cordoned off as it is too slippery when wet.
I think cordoning off a bit that hardly anyone uses because its slippy in the rain isn’t a “disaster”, more a fixable annoyance — a disaster would require huge numbers of dead people.
Yes – the yellow gaffa tape is pretty shocking. Surely they need to either seal it off properly or rectify the space. The Glass awnings over the entrances are good though and provide a welcome amount of light into the station and views as you rise to street level.
… hence only a bit of a disaster rather than a disaster.
