When the lockdown struck, London Underground closed a number of tube stations, but they’re starting to open again. The requirement to ramp up services as quickly as possible back to normality was one of the conditions of the bailout agreement with the government last week.

Some stations that are open may close at short notice if staff are needed elsewhere to handle crowds, and all are likely to have crowd control measures in place to reduce the risks of the virus spreading.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you

Lambeth North and Tooting Bec were both closed initially, I believe. Do you know when they were reopened?

And is there any word on when the remaining stations are likely to reopen?

    When will bermondsey station open?

    Questions, questions. Hmm.
Instead of simply bothering the teacher, benefits are to be gained from interrogating the source material yourself. I dunno, why not try e-mail updates from, or visit the TfL site itself?

Thanks, useful list here from I V.
Lancaster Gate now looks likely to reopen from 10/8, not 16/8, according to TfL’s on-line station status info.
Manor House looks likely to reopen on 16/8. Unclear if there will be restricted hours or not.
Southwark now opens half an hour earlier on Mon-Fri, at 06:30.
