Ever since the Night Overground service launched last year, it has skipped Whitechapel station – but not from tonight.
The Night Overground launched a year ago, on the 15th December 2017, and has seen around 250,000 journeys made along the Highbury & Islington to New Cross Gate route in the first year.
The Night Overground operated initially between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate and was extended to Highbury & Islington in February 2018.
From the start though, the trains skipped Whitechapel as works were being undertaken by the Crossrail project.
Although Crossrail’s launch has been delayed, the works at Whitechapel have reached a point where the Overground can start calling there in the nights as well now.
