There will be a 2-day history festival taking place over the second weekend of December.
And, umm, that’s about all I can tell you about it.
They have a Facebook group which they set up to encourage people to share news about the festival and get people excited about it — but it’s private and membership needs to be approved first.
They have a webpage that asks you to subscribe to know when tickets go on sale, but doesn’t tell you anything about the festival that would get your juices flowing and keen to sign up.
But you could win one of 100 free entry tickets by entering a prize draw.
I can’t tell you how much those prize tickets are worth, because the website doesn’t tell you.
I hope that HistFest is better in the flesh than in it’s digital marketing.
SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE
This website has been running now for just over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, but doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.
It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.
Whether its a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.
