An architecture tour with a difference next month, as a Routmaster bus offers a tour around the City of London focusing on preparations for the Elizabeth line.
In addition, the Routemaster bus is one owned by Sir Peter Hendy, Chairman of Network Rail and former Commissioner for Transport for London, and he will be at the wheel driving you around the City.
A number of guides will take to the microphone to talk about new projects from Helical’s Bartholomew Close, Broadgate, Principal Place, London Wall, Bishopsgate and Leadenhall Street.
The guides will be: Geoff Harris, Head of Development at TH Real Estate; Gerald Kaye, Chief Executive at Helical; Gareth Roberts, Head of Broadgate Development, British Land; Shin Kagitomi, Director at Mitsubishi Estate; and Annie Hampson, Chief Planning Officer, City of London.
The tour will be raising money for the WCCA’s Temple Bar Trust to help fund wider access to the architectural profession by supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
The tickets are pricey — at £150 per person — but it’s for charity.
The tour takes place on Monday 24th Sept from 6pm to 8:30pm.
You can book here.
This ride forms part of a series of charity bus rides organised by Peter Hendy and Peter Murray raising funds for number of good causes.
A similar £200 tour of Crossrail 2 route is also taking place next month – details here.
