Next month sees an occasional opening of the Caledonian Park Clock Tower and a chance to climb the narrow steps to the very top for amazing views across North London.

It’s a very steep and in places, slightly scary climb but the reward is impressive once you get up there.

Tours are free, but by ticket only, and these will be released this coming Saturday (19th May) at 8am on the Islington council website.

The tours themselves take place on Sunday 18th June as part of the Open Garden Squares weekend.

Based on previous open days, there’s usually a large display at the ground about the history of the park and the tower — and the plans to restore the tower.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you

Are the tickets released on Friday 19th May, or Saturday 20th May?
