Hand-drawn panoramas of London taken from balloons were a staple diet of Victorian newspapers, and in the modern age, similar photos from up high can be equally captivating.
One artist has taken the old and new and blended, to produce ink panoramas of modern London, in the old style.
The artist, Mike Hall says that the composition is based on photographs he took from the viewing gallery in February 2013 and was drawn freehand with a fineliner pen on Bristol Board and took around 4 months to complete.
The design features a decorative border and title cartouche with an index of eighty well-known landmarks featured in the drawing which are labelled numerically, and several locations are also labelled with text to orientate the viewer.
A number of sizes of the print are available here.
