Gadgets Galore at the BBC TV studio auction

The BBC Television Centre is auctioning off a load of its former equipment now that it is no longer used for broadcasting, and out of the more than two-thousand objects for sale, some are.. interesting.

OK, most of it is very technical television and radio studio equipment that might appeal to low-budget operators.

But what sort of self-respecting hipster wouldn’t want one of these on their bedside desk?

Or this promo board for the Dr Who fan who has (nearly) everything?

A pallet load of 50 old Dell computers for a tenner? Actually, they have a lot of computers for sale, including some to sate collectors of old Apple Macs. Or buyers of consumer gadgets and mobile phones over here.

Serious fans of television might like to own one of these mobile TV camera stands.

Do take the product descriptions with a pinch of salt though — as I am not entirely sure these are prints of London scenes. But people after a cheap TV might want to click here. Watching telly on a telly used by the BBC could be quite novel.

Talking about watching telly, this would be the perfect present for the football fan, with a very large living room, and understanding other half.

This maybe an audio mixing desk, but at that price, it could well be a spaceship command station for a child’s bedroom.
