A Victorian Advent Calendar – 19th Dec

Considering the regular complaints about the commercialisation of the modern Christmas, I decided to have my own Advent Calendar this month – made from adverts that were printed in Victorian newspapers.

Each day I will display an advert from my collection of the Illustrated London News (click on the image for a larger version).

    Loving your advent calender and infact the whole website, something for everyone! I have two huge 4ft x 3ft decoupages made up from adverts in the illustrated London news from 1880 (not that I would have cut up one of those papers if i had owned it myself, but your advent calendar is certainly in keeping with it!
