All going well, when this blog post is automatically published on Saturday morning, I will be half way to Paris on the Eurostar, with Tom as my travelling companion to show the French what a cycle hire scheme should look like.

Aka, large, blue and branded.

The plan is to cycle around the city sampling its wares and trying to get as many photos of Boris Bikes in suitably Parisian locations as possible. So expect photos of two blue bikes in front of the Eifel Tower, two blue bikers peddling along the Champs-Élysées, two blue bikes outside the Louvre etc.

And maybe two Boris Bike riders munching on cheese and drinking wine (for the energy obviously).

I am going to try to live-tweet as we go along, so there should be photos and comments through out the day on our respective Twitter accounts, ianvisits and tiredoflondon. I’ll also take rather better photos to upload when I get home.

The whole thing could be a total disaster though as something disrupts the adventure. Fingers crossed!

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
