Even though London’s annual architectural feast / chance to peer in people’s private homes (delete as appropriate) is not due until the middle of September, you can already place pre-orders for the printed guide.
I always buy a copy, partly because the event is a charity and buying the guide helps fund the Open House weekend, but mainly because I usually get a day or two to scour the guide and hunt down all those juicy venues that will need tickets – before they are publicised on the website and “sell out” within minutes.
It also acts as a handy “things to see from the outside” guide for the rest of the year if I am visiting a place for a random wander round.
Pre-ordering the guide right now (or at least, before the Royal Wedding) will also get you 15% off the £6.50 cost – type in discount code GUIDE at the checkout. Place your order here.
The guides will be sent out on Friday 5th August, which traditionally means the ticketing website will go live on Monday 8th August. The Open House Weekend itself is on the 17 & 18 September 2011.
Hi Ian,
What have been your Open House highlights over the years?
Frankly, too many to mention.
Try mentioning one.
Last year the discount was 20%, not 15%, and the discount deadline was three months later.
Still worth every penny, but the conditions get tougher every year.
Ok, well your top five?!
