I was wandering around the South Bank yesterday waiting for friends as we had tickets to see a recording of Have I Got News for You – and saw a small plastic bag sellotaped to one of the lamp posts with a big sticker saying “Pick Me Up!”.

Being nosy – I did, and inside is a postcard and a note.

It is part of an art project, Homing Smidgen to create 100 collages then deposit them around London.

The idea is that people find them, log on a website where they were found – then drop the card off at a different location.

Quite interesting – I am off out for lunch shortly and shall dutifully sellotape the package to something in the Canary Wharf estate.

I like these sorts of things.

I got number 37 – theme is architecture, which is apt considering how much I am interested in architecture.

The package is below (click for larger versions)

Incidentally, the recording was great fun, and Moira Stewart was the host – you can see it on BBC1 on Saturday. Apparently something called “football” is more important and they had to move the program from its normal Friday slot.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
