This is a rare opportunity to see behind the scenes at Lambeth Palace Library, along with the Great Hall, and parts of the Palace building itself.

This tour, lasting approximately 90 minutes, will include a visit to the conservation studio and talks from archives and printed books staff about the history of the Library and its collections, as well as the work that goes on in the Library today.

There will also be an opportunity to view some items from the archives on display.

Tours are free, and need to be booked in advance here.

The take place on the following dates:

  • Friday 7 September at 11am
  • Monday 10 September at 11am
  • Friday 14 September at 11am
  • Monday 17 September at 11am

Booking is essential, and places are limited to a maximum of 15.

Note that part of the tour is only accessible via a spiral stone staircase.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
