A heads up that the tickets to visit a vast number of otherwise private gardens go on sale tomorrow (Tues 28th Feb).

The weekend ticket costs £13 if booked in advance (£15 on the day) and give you unlimited access to as many gardens as you can pack in to the two days.

The event takes place over the weekend of 17th-18th June, and at the moment, nearly 240 gardens will be opening their doors to the public.

Notable gardens opening over the Weekend include Nomura International’s vast roof-top garden, the River Cafe garden, Garden Barge Square, the MaRoCoCo Garden at Rococo Chocolates, Eccleston Square, Eaton Square and Belgrave Square, the Royal College of Physicians’ medicinal garden and The Master’s Garden within the Temple complex.

Tickets can be booked here

This year, the garden of Number 10 Downing Street will be available via a public ballot. The ballot will close at 1pm on Tuesday 16th May. Once drawn, 48 people will be selected to attend a tour on Sunday 18th June 2017.

The site of the David Cameron/Nick Clegg love-in and where President Obama served burgers is not actually that exceptional a garden, but in terms of “damn difficult places for the public to visit” it is practically at the top of the list.

To enter the ballot, go here.

Booking for other guided walks and tours of other gardens will open in mid-May.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
