Now a staple of the annual social calendar, the goat race sees Oxford vs Cambridge in their timeless battle of goating strength.

Held at Spitalfield’s City Farm, the 9th annual Goat Race which will see two pygmy goats lock horns and race around the farm for endless fame and goaty glory.

The race is usually around mid-afternoon, when the goats feel like it, but there’s entertainments, grub and games while the audience waits.

As the space is limited for watching, and to ensure the goats kept happy, the event is entry by ticket, and the tickets sell out very very fast.

Tickets for this year’s The Oxford & Cambridge Goat Race go on sale tomorrow (Wed 8th March) at 9am.

Keep an eye on their Facebook page for booking details.

The Goat Race takes place on the same day as some less interesting boat race thingy on the Thames — namely Sunday 2nd April.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
