Underneath Tower Bridge are two huge empty chambers, but later this month they will be filled with music.

The chambers are where the massive counterweights swing when the bridge is being opened, but also offer a rather unique venue for events, so long as the bridge doesn’t need to be opened of course.

Over the weekend of 17th-19th Feb, there will be a site-specific light and sound installation in the Bascule Chamber.

This experience combines light, sound, and projected imagery. According to Tower Bridge, audiences are invited to ‘review’ and ‘re-evaluate’ their relationship with the city and their perception of its history and character.

Tickets cost £30 and are limited due to the capacity of the Bascule Chamber.

Or £35 to include a visit to the Tower Bridge Exhibition as well.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
