The Epping Ongar Railway — a steam heritage line in East London — is going back to its roots, back to when it was part of the Central Line.
For a weekend next month, the London Transport Museum will undertake a transformation of the steam railway stations to take us back to the era when the Epping Ongar Railway was at the Eastern end of the Central Line.
They have the famous Met 1 steam train joining them, and plan to bring in a popular Class 20 Loco in London Transport Livery to complete the feel of this special event.
Tickets for the event cost £13 for an all-day pass on as many trips as you can fit in. There is also a free shuttle vintage bus from Epping tube station to the steam railway.

(as an aside, if the Class 20 locomotive looks vaguely familiar, one of its friends was the nuclear missile train in the Bond movie Goldeneye)
