I have usually bought paper tickets as part of my train ticket when travelling to London. I did not know it was cheaper to use contactless until a few days ago. As someone who goes to London by train there has never been any publicity about that in my local SWR station.
I wonder why not?
If you are able to buy an 18 to 25, 25 to 30 or Senior Rail card go to a tfl information centre, link it to your Oyster Card and save one third on all off peak journeys.
