The now-annual chance to ride a series of double-decker buses through a military firing range to an abandoned village has confirmed its 2018 date.
There are only a few days each year on which the road through Imber is open to the public and so this year the Imberbus service will operate on
Saturday 18th August 2018

In the middle of the firing range
There will be several London Transport Routemaster buses (plus a few newer ones) providing a bus service from Warminster Station to Imber and to other isolated locations on the Salisbury Plain.
As the buses will be operating an ordinary bus service, there is no need for passengers to book in advance – just turn up and pay the conductor on the bus.
If you fancy a fine day out in the countryside, to visit an abandoned village, and do so in a fleet of London buses, then keep the 18th August free.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE
This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.
It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.
Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.
If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.
Thank you
