Half price offers on 400,000 tickets will be available for travel between 30th January and 31st March 2017 on both Standard and First Class tickets across Virgin Train’s east coast route.

Half price fares include the below Standard Advance Single tickets:

  • London King’s Cross to Leeds: from £7.75
  • Edinburgh to London King’s Cross: from £20
  • Newcastle to Edinburgh: from £6.40
  • Peterborough to London King’s Cross: from £5.75
  • York to Newcastle: from £6.00

And the below First Class Advance Single tickets:

  • London King’s Cross to Leed: from £21.75
  • Edinburgh to London King’s Cross: from £35.25
  • Newcastle to Edinburgh: from £12.75
  • Peterborough to London King’s Cross: from £12.00
  • York to Newcastle: from £9.90

Half price tickets will be available to book from 10am on Monday, 9th January here


Terms & Conditions

  • Valid on tickets travelling between 30 January to 31 March 2017, excluding 17-20 February 2017 (inclusive)
  • For travel on Virgin Trains East Coast services and connections only
  • Limited availability on peak services and at weekends
  • Due to engineering works there will be no sale tickets available on journeys to and from London King’s Cross on 4-5 February and 11-12 February 2017
  • No other offers or discounts can be applied, including Railcards
