Get your free pint! Young’s pubs marks 193rd birthday with a week-long giveaway
Next week, Young’s pubs is offering a free pint to all visitors to mark their 193rd birthday. And, as part of Young’s Day, their horse and cart will be on tour to some of their pubs in Greenwich and the City of London Wandsworth on the birthday itself.
Young’s was founded in 1831 when Charles Allen Young and his partner Anthony Forthergill Bainbridge start a brewery and pub company. Later, they took over the Ram Brewery in Wandsworth and five pubs and have expanded ever since.
To mark being 193 years young, Young’s is offering a free pint of Young’s Original or Special (or pint of Beavertown, or a diet coke, or even a glass of wine) to all comers next week. To claim, you need to download the Young’s smartphone app (Apple or Android) and go to the ‘Your Treats’ section.
The free pint can be redeemed at all Young’s Pubs and Rooms from 16th to 22nd September 2024.

UPDATED 11th Sept – they’ve quietly dropped the City of London and added Wandsworth to the tour.
Young’s has not existed in any brewing sense since they sold their stake to Wells & Co. whom they merged with after leaving Wandsworth in 2006. They are purely a property company now so this is all complete hokum that will of course fool most people.
The beer has never been right since they left Wandsworth.
“Horse and Cart”? Did you mean “Horse drawn dray”?
Quite Agree when Youngs left Wandsworth a part of South London died we are now left with the Brioche Bun society
I well remember partaking of this offer probably last years in a “Youngs” “pub” near me. I had to send the beer back, which I very very rarely do, and felt a bit off as it was of course free. The replacement pint was actually little better so I thought I had better cut my losses. Got knows who brewed the stuff or where (I knew about the Wells deal though) – maybe a bunch of bankers/estate agents/property developers. Not the London youngs I remember of old. Will risk another free pint this year maybe as I hesitate to look a dray horse in the mouth. Thanks to Ian for highlighting of course.
