When I had the tour of the new Stratford International station last month, mention was made of plans to do tests of the new Eurostar terminal at St. Pancras – and that they would probably open it to the general public.

Well, the website is live now – and I have made a booking for the 8th November and will spend the morning/early afternoon pretending to be a passenger. We don’t go through the Channel Tunnel – but everything else is real.

They are actually being very generous – as participants can get their travel expenses paid, get free meal AND a voucher for a free return trip on the Eurostar to be used later.

Much different to Heathrow which is only offering a light snack to people who help them test their new Terminal 5.

Anyhow – linkie to Eurostar here (warning, didn’t work in my copy of Firefox).

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
