Tis the season to sit in front of your computer on a video call wearing nothing except a Christmas Jumper.

There might not be much opportunity to show off your garish taste in jumpers on the tube this year, but there’s no excuse not to burn the eyeballs of your beloved work colleagues over the video call.

The Christmas Jumper is increasingly a staple product of the museum shop, so a look around finds the following “delights” for you from London venues.

English Heritage

The Nordic style print features the words ‘Merry Christmas’ alongside Stonehenge trilithon stones, Father Christmas and other symbols of the festive period.

Available in two sizes – both cost £20

House of Parliament

A brand new design for 2020, this year’s limited edition Christmas Jumper pays homage to both Houses of Parliament with a red and green Fair Isle design that incorporates the iconic crowned portcullis, a repeating lion inspired by Pugin’s neo-gothic Palace of Westminster interiors, and various other patterns and symbols associated with Parliament.

Available in 6 sizes – all cost £45

Imperial War Museum

A vintage repeat pattern sees Santa racing across the green jumper’s chest in Spitfire plane. The sleeves and reverse are speckled with snowflakes, and it has a round neck and ribbed cuffs.

Available in 5 sizes — all cost £40

LT Museum

Santa Claus climbs high into the sky with the help of his reindeer in his vibrant red bus piled with wrapped green and red presents. Snowflakes dot the entire navy blue jumper and red and green Christmas trees and white roundels line the hem and sleeves.

Available in 6 sizes – all cost £35

There is also a children’s version with a different design.

Natural History Museum

Roar around the Christmas tree with this year’s unisex dinosaur Christmas jumper for adults.

Available in 5 sizes — all cost £35

Science Museum

The Science Museum jumper features a navy and red festive design including space shuttles, santa, planets, comets, sputnik and satellites.

Available in 2 sizes – both cost £30

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.
