The annual tradition of posting a different vintage image each day during advent, and this year, it’s of London’s old railway stations.
Opened in April 1868 as part of the Metropolitan line extension from Baker Street, it was closed in 1939 when the Bakerloo line (now Jubilee) opened a service at nearby St. John’s Wood station.
The building still remains in place, as an access point for London Underground staff.
This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs.
