A week of disruptions on London Over- and Under-ground
In two separate notices, London Underground has designated the first week of August for two separate but major sets of disruptions on the tube network.
Camden Town / Northern Line
Due to track replacement work at Camden Town Tube station northbound Northern line trains will effectively split into two lines.
- Charing Cross branch trains will only go to High Barnet / Mill Hill East
- Bank branch trains will only go to Edgware
People are also being urged to avoid changing at Camden Town or Euston during the evening peak as the stations will be extremely busy.
During the week of Monday 1 August, Camden Town station will be exit-only between 4pm to 7pm and if the station gets too busy, trains may not stop there. Customers will be guided to use nearby Mornington Crescent or Chalk Farm Tube stations.

East London Line
London Overground services between Highbury & Islington and Shadwell will not operate from Saturday 30 July to Sunday 7 August and between Surrey Quays and New Cross from Monday 1 August to Friday 5 August.
That’s due to major Crossrail works at Whitechapel station.
There will also be no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 July and Saturday 6 August and Sunday 7 August due to Network Rail track work.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE
This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.
It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.
Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.
