SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Referring to the Crossrail article, the Italian company Greenrail has developed three new sleepers, partly made from recycled plastic and rubber from tires, that are 15-20% cheaper and 50% less maintenance costs, that also have a 50 year lifespan and reduce noise, useful on the 24 hour Tube thats getting complaints about the noise from people living near the lines.
Greenrail Smart comes with sensors,Solar has a solar panel, and the Piezo sleeper that generates electricity from the slight downward movement of the track when a Train passes over it.

Not just Camberwell station to reopen as a National Rail station or it will be reopened as part of the Bakerloo Line extension. And other former railway stations in London could also reopen including Primrose Hill which London Overground could use to reduce overcrowding at Chalk Farm station and a new Stratford-Watford Junction/Willesden Junction service to be operated once Primrose Hill station does reopen.

And a new Overground station close to Millwall FC called New Bermondsey station to be built as it will be ideal for the local community at Bermondsey and also for football games including away football fans traveling to Millwall by using the Overground. Which is quicker to get to no matter what Millwall are playing at home (As I’m not a Millwall fan and I’ve been to Millwall many times).

    • The Oracle says:

There’s going to be no new Bakerloo line station in Camberwell as the Old Kent Road Route was selected instead.
For somebody who comments on nearly every rail related journal, you don’t seem to read what has been written. Or do you have a hard time in distinguishing fact from fiction?
