A large number of venues that have been supported by grants from the National Lottery over the past 23 years since it was set up are to open their doors for free for a week in December.

Venues such as the London Transport Museum, Kew Gardens, Cartoon Museum, and Brooklands Museum will all be having free entry days, and other venues will be offering a range of deals from free entry to paid exhibitions or discounts in their shops.

The week runs from Mon 11th to Sun 17th December, with some venues only participating on select dates.

To qualify for the deal, you need to turn up clutching a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard — so you never know, you might even win a prize as well.

The offer runs throughout the UK (map of venues), and below are the museums, galleries and gardens participating within the M25 region.

Offers vary, so please check the participating attraction’s website for all the details and terms and conditions before you visit.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
