Within St Pancras Station, where once hung 5 Olympic rings, now hangs a giant game of Tetris.
At least that is what it looks like. In fact it’s art. Art that is just a copy of a game of Tetris, because that’s how art is done these days.
Officially, it’s called Chromolocomotion, and according to the blurb, it alludes to the station as a cathedral of industrial revolution.
Not sure how a Russian computer game based around maths alludes to Victorian engineering, but that’s why I am not an artist.
I am left wondering what Betjeman would have made of it.

It’s the stained glass that references cathedrals,
But the shapes are not tetris, whish are varied shapes composed of four joined squares. These shapes are identical “long L” shapes, in left andright handed forms composed of 5 joined squares.
Setting aside the technicalities, can you, hand on heart say you didn’t look at it and think “that looks like a game of Tetris”, even for a smidgen of a moment?

It’s simplistic, low ability art that sums up the sad lack of talent nowadays in ‘artists’. The ‘concept’ matters more than artistic ability. also of course god forbid any religious allusions are included.
