More tours of HMS Ocean announced

If you missed out on the chance to visit the Royal Navy’s largest warship, currently doing Olympian security duties in Greenwich, then it has been announced that it will be open to the public again during the August Bank Holiday.

The ship will be open from 10am on Monday 27 August, with last entry at 4pm.

Based on last time – and I see no reason why they would change it — the queue start just outside the riverside entrance to the Greenwich tourist information centre (map link) and curve around the building.

I got there at 9am last time and the wait (after 10am start) was about 20 minutes, and after my visit, I had a look at the queue again and it wasn’t much worse than that.

Ladies! Do wear sensible shoes – it’s a warship, not a shopping centre. Also, no prams.

My review from the last open day is here.

Would be interesting to find out if they will let people up onto the flight-deck this time, as I would go back for that.
